FSSAI Licence for Food Manufacturers in India

Manufacturing food, from snacks and beverages to spices and dairy, typically needs a State or Central FSSAI licence, not just Basic Registration, once you cross petty thresholds or operate at plant scale.

Tier cues. Turnover above ₹1.5 Crore within one state → State Licence. Above ₹50 Crore or notified multi-state / export-oriented cases → Central. Confirm on FoSCoS for your category.

Docs manufacturers often need. Layout/floor plan, water test (as applicable), machinery/product list, FSMS plan, constitution docs, and ID/premises proofs. Use our documents checklist.

After approval. Display the 14-digit number on packs, maintain hygiene Schedule 4 standards, file returns where required, and renew on time.
