FSSAI Licence for Restaurants and Cloud Kitchens

Delivery apps, landlords, and inspectors all expect a valid FSSAI registration or licence before you serve food. Cloud kitchens are not exempt.

Typical path. Most single-outlet restaurants and cloud kitchens begin with Basic or State, depending on turnover and setup. Multi-city brands and large commissaries often need Central.

What platforms ask for. Your 14-digit FSSAI number, business name matching the licence, and premises address that matches the kitchen they onboard.

Multi-brand cloud kitchens. Each brand may still sit under one FBO licence if the operator and premises are the same, but product categories and disclosures must stay accurate. Expanding to a second kitchen usually means a new or modified licence.

After you get the licence. Display it where required, renew on time, and update FoSCoS if you change address, partners, or food categories via FSSAI modification.
